SKA Rules and Code of Conduct Apply!
This is a Captain's Choice tournament.
Class of 23 Boats begin checking out at 6:30AM in front of the Point Cadet Marina (Isle of Capri). Please line up from east to west, starting just west of the marina entrance, along the seawall. When announced at 6:30 on VHF channel 68 proceed past the marina opening showing your number to the SKA representative on the dock. You have ten minutes before we release the Open Class boats. NOTE: After you show your number you must continue east or south. You cannot turn around and go west! After check-out please go to VHF Channel 72, the official channel for the tournament. If you are a Class of 23 boat and are going west then you must check out with the Open Class boats at the Small Boat Harbor.
Open Class Boats line up from west to east in front of the Small Boat Harbor (east wall) no more than two abreast. At 6:40 we will begin check-out. Show your number and we will respond to VHF Channel 72. If you are going east or south please turn and idle to the south till you are out of the flow of traffic, then proceed at idle speed till you are past the boats checking out. Remember, Point Cadet Marina is a NO WAKE AREA!
PLEASE RESPECT ALL NO WAKE ZONES!! VHF RADIO CHANNEL 72
- 3:00PM Scales Open at the Palace Casino Resort
- Between 3-4:00PM after going under the new Ocean Springs / Biloxi bridge, come in single file to the weigh-in dock.
- After 4:00PM you must check in with the check-in boat. Remain in single file and come to the scale. If you are staying in the Palace Marina, drop off your team member with your fish then proceed to dock your boat. If you are staying elsewhere, drop off the person to scale your fish and immediately leave the dock. You will again line up on the south side of the dock area and pick up your team members when you see them. Please have the fish you are going to weigh ready when you reach the dock. We will take your group picture, then it's off to the scale.
EVERYONE MUST REMOVE THEIR FISH FROM THEIR BAG AND HAVE A GROUP SHOT MADE BEFORE GOING TO THE SCALE!!!
Remember that it will take us four hours to weigh all the fish expected. If everyone follows procedure it will go very smoothly. Scales close after the last fish is weighed.
All boats must return and be checked in with the check-in boat by 5:00PM. Stay in line and keep your VHF radios on channel 72 so we can communicate with you. Those coming in at 5:00 please remember that it will be very close to dark. Watch your speed and keep your team members looking for other boats!!!
The Gulf of Mexico is a vast body of water. Please keep your radio on and your eyes open for any fellow members who break down or have other problems. If you have no fish to weigh after the first day, please contact the tournament committee on VHF 72 or 904/669-0011 or 910/695-6818 that you are safely in port.
There will be scoreboards at the tournament site for your inspection!
