Bimini Twist’s 54.73 Earns Top Slot at Key West Harbour’s King Mackerel Tournament!

Key West, Florida - The Bimini Twist team caught a 54.73 on the first day of the 16th Annual Key West Harbour King Mackerel Tournament and walked away with the event's $7,000 top prize. "We had a great day on the water, catching fish all day long," said Grant Johnson. "We fished the Atlantic side in 78 feet of water, basically near the Banana Bar, which was 37 miles from the channel. She ate a fresh blue runner about eleven-thirty. Jerry Stephenson grabbed the rod and the fight was on."

Grant went on to tell me that they never stopped for bait, catching them while still trolling.

Bimini Twist dazzled the crowd of spectators on the first day of the Key West Harbour KMT with an impressive 54.73 pound kingfish. The tight race of the Small Boats was championed by Trailer Trash with a nice 37.53. Can either of these teams be beat going into the second day? The competition in Key West, Florida is only heating up!

Tune in at 2pm eastern to see if any of our talented fishermen have the perfect blend of skill and luck on the second day to knock Bimini Twist or Trailer Trash out of first place in their respective fields!
